~balance~

I was helping train a co-worker today and it really seemed like he was struggling with his new responsibilities.
I got the sense that he wasn't even enjoying the time spent with his son because he couldn't forget the tasks he'd left back at his desk.
I told him about the absolutely breakdown I had had sssoooooo many years ago and how he had to try and learn to let go.
and before I left for the day I snuck back to his desk and wrote on his task pad "BALANCE!".
I hope he gets something out of that :) I also put a sticky note at the bottom saying that he was doing a good job and to keep up the good work but it got me to thinking about what the bible might say about balance.  cause the eat, pray, love book I read just a couple months ago really had a lot of that concept to it.  elizabeth gilbert studied a lot about meditation and eastern religion and while I think that some of their teachings are about transcendance from the human relm I took away that balance is another key factor.

my quick google of "balance God" came back with this article:
The Perfect Balance of God's Truth
1. inability does not rule out responsibility
2. certainty does not rule out necessity
3. limited purpose does not rule out indiscriminate preaching
4. preservation does not rule out perseverance
5. love does not rule out law

this isn't exactly what I was looking for but I like it none the less / especially his last paragraph.

I am proud that you took the risk to share a personal experience of yours that may help him. I am so glad that you took the time to sneak back and compliment him, as well as remind him of balance. I always think of a teeter totter and wiggling just a smidgen one way or the other can make all the difference in the world. Loves, Mom
