we like crime dramas and sssooooo often a detective blurts out "I promise..." and the other day my husband and I were conversing about how neither of us ever use that phrase. you know why? because so often there are things beyond our control (and it just so happened that in this episode it was that very same case) that wouldn't allow us to keep those promises.
of course we do make statements of things that we will do. but for some reason / in my mind / the word promise holds a lot more weight.
the title of exodus chapter 5 verse 22-23 in my bible is God promises deliverance.
