as I was thinking more on promises, I realized that many of us have made one very life changing and public promise. many of us have gotten married :) I'm sure it would have been easier for God to ditch this whole "human race" thing (after all -who would call him out on it?) just as it often seems like it would be easier to only have to worry about myself. oh the joys of singledom seem so inviting sometimes! and yet I love it even more when someone asks me how long I've been married. I can proudly do the math and come up with eleven whole years. eleven whole years I haven't been perfect but eleven whole years we've both managed to keep trying.
I asked an amazing woman [entrepreneur, environmentalist, author, scholar, craftsman, artist] one time what the greatest thing she's ever done was. she said, "I stayed with my husband".
