So I prayed this morning...

...and then in reading this evening:
1 John 1:8
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

So since I was raised Lutheran I've never really "confessed".  But maybe it has a place?  Maybe within my prayers I should remember my sins??

In the olden days, we had individual confession and absolution in the sacristy with the pastor before communion. For the sake of time (a pastor with three services five to ten miles apart), the public confession/absolution is used in the communion service. I always feel that during the Ash Wednesday service, when we take the time for the individual absolution, I am more forgiven than the rest of the year. Confession of sins is difficult for anyone, especially us norwegian lutherans.
